About PwP

Parents Wanting Partners is the new kid on the block.  It was founded in 2010 in Brisbane, Australia by us as two single parents after we separated from each other. We could not make it work together but fortunately managed to set our differences aside and are just good friends and better parents to our child.

Much to our dismay, we discovered how difficult it was to find a suitable partner to share our lives with our daughter even though we both have a lot going for us.

“As single parents we felt isolated from society because of our status as single parents and decided to build a sounding board for other single parents in a similar situation.”

Statistics show that single parent households are on the increase not just in Australia but all over the world and it is unfortunately becoming the norm in the classroom that more children are living in two separate households.  Statistics also show that it is more difficult to blend two new families together due to demographics and other difficulties.  We hope that via the internet this divide can become less of an issue.

This blog is about encouraging other single parents to reach out, find support through us and find a friendship with other like-minded parents.  We also wish to show that after separation two parents can make it work in an amicable way.  Having said that, some of my blogs are not just for single parents, anyone is welcome to join in and enjoy.

To help us grow please freely share our blogs, enter your own thoughts and comments in the space provided.  All personal information will be kept secure and confidential.

There are long-term goals in place but we need your help to build up numbers first.  In this regard we ask you to contact us for future events planned in our areas.  We can’t do it without your help so thank you in advance.

For now please forgive us if we remain anonymous for the time being to protect our personal information and our little girl.  The same courtesy will be extended to you if you so choose.

Thank you 🙂
